I heard a touching story last night from a great man who worked his whole life building a company with one mission. He wanted to employ and support as many families as he could. The business lasted 14 years and employed hundreds of people.

When telling his story one quote really stood out to me and reminded me of how I used to feel when I got my first job straight out of school.

I’ll try to do the phrase justice and remember his words.

“A man was taking a leisurely stroll along a rivers edge  one day when he stumbled upon three men who where chiseling away at some stone. The man asked the first worker what he was doing and he replied “I’m working for the minimum wage” He went on to ask the second man what he was doing and he replied “I’m shaping this stone” finally he asked the third man what he was doing and the third man replied “I am building a great cathedral! this will be a magnificent building for all to enjoy”

Occasionally we come across cathedral builders but most of us are stuck with our head in the sand like the first two workers, which one are you?
