SEO Techniques can make or break a Good website or business, are you doing enough to get ranked highly for your SEO keywords?

With so many so called “Gurus” out there preaching their SEO Techniques, how are we supposed to know who’s got the right info and who’s blowing wind up our you know what?

I’ve found that nearly all of the SEO companies I have used online have been engaged in what I would called bad SEO or “Black hat” Techniques. In fact out of the last three companies that I purchased so called “good” PR rank one way links, all three have given me links from sites that are clearly link farms.

Do you think Google likes pages that have thousands of outbound links? Hell no! so it really pays to know what is good SEO and what are plain bad SEO techniques.

Here’s some tips that I learned along the way.

Good SEO Techniques

SEO Techniques Tip 1 – Notice on this page that I am using “SEO Techniques” in the Title? That’s because this article is about SEO Techniques so you need to let Google know that that’s what your page is about.  So simply use your keywords in H1 titles. You want a bad example? ok here’s an alternative that might sound good but isn’t too SEO smart  “Lets talk about SEO and my best techniques” See how the phrase is broken. No one will type that into Google.. you got it:)

SEO Techniques Tip 2 – The natural next tip would have to be H2 headers, you should try to incorporate them into your page as sub headers. I’m going to have to use this page again as an example because it’s easy Notice the H2 Header for this subset is called “Good SEO techniques” and below there will be another sub header in H2 format called “Bad SEO techniques” This again is helping to explain to Google and other search engines that we are not just talking about SEO Techniques but that we are also going into great detail about the good and the bad. Trust me Google knows that there are sub tipics with the subject so we should incorporate these as well.

SEO Techniques Tip 3 – Do Your Research! I’m going to share with you a great tool for understanding how Googles brain works:

It’s called the wonder wheel, cool name hey! So if you havent used it before there’s a new part of Google, just type your search term into Google hit enter then look down to the left. You should see a little show options tab (see below)

Ok so once you click on that you will find a whole bunch of options, go down to wonder wheel and click on that to see the follwoing wonder wheel about SEO Techniques.

Cool right So now we can see what exactly Google thinks about the term “SEO Techniques” too easy… so what can you use this for? get inside Googles head, if you were stumped about what to right an article about then use these keywords. Try to use these phrases in your article. Once you click on another term within the results you will get another whole wheel of great keywords. This tool is also great for keyword research in PPC campaigns.

SEO Techniques Tip 4 – Images are a great way to implement your SEO strategy, if you have images around or within your text that helps to explain the content Google will love you for this too. But…. USE ALT TAGS seriously how many of you don’t bother? you can tell me.. I cant even begin to tell you how much traffic i get from Google images and how much better my pages have ranked after incorporating video or images.

SEO Techniques Tip 5 – If your using a Blogging platform then don’t leave yourself out to dry, get your hands on some of the easiest plugins you can, All in one SEO is great they have over 4 million downloads to date, my most favourite plugin by far is the free traffic getting SEO plugin Awesome!! these guys have an awesome sweep of seo techniques that basically walk you through step by step. There are so many plugins I could recommend but that’s a whole other post.

SEO Techniques Tip 6 - Meta keywords are critical, SEO Phrase should appear at least once in the keywords.

SEO Techniques Tip 7 - Your headings should not have more than 10 words in the title.

SEO Techniques Tip 8 - Keyword density is really important, you should have at least 1-4% “your keyword” in your article. So this means for every 100 words that you should ahve one occurence of your keyword.
