Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past two months then you’re most likely aware of or have been hit by the Google Penguin.
Personally I haven’t reacted just yet but have seen some substantial losses in both ranking and referral income, mainly the sites that ranked 1-2-3 all dropped to page two now back to page one again but not above the fold.
I’ve just tried removing all footer links in one particular site to see if it improves my ranking over the coming week, I’ll report back with my findings.
